The Wailers (’60s – ’70s Jamaican reggae band of Wailer, Marley & Tosh)

The Wailers est un groupe jamaïcain fondé en 1963 par Nesta Marley, Neville Livingston et Winston McIntosh. Nesta et Neville sont voisins et amis depuis longtemps lorsqu'ils rencontrent Winston, en 1963. Ils débutent ensemble sous la houlette du producteur Joe Higgs et se font appeler « The Teenagers », puis « The Wailing Rude Boys ». Lorsqu'ils deviennent enfin « The Wailing Wailers », ils comptent désormais cinq membres, après les arrivées de Franklin « Junior » Braithwaite (13 ans) et Ermine « Cherry » Green.
